Keram also goes into depth about why you should consider resurrecting the carrier pigeon and investing in a typewriter from the gold ducats you have stashed underground in an unmarked metal safe.

Other topics include auto-stereoscopic technologies coming to stores, James Cameron and Vincent pace going full-on 3D, the next gen HDSLR 2.0 and Blackmagic Design’s astonishing new Cinema Camera that shoots raw 12 bit footage for “Prosumer” prices. Monster apps like Draw Something and Instragram are discussed and movies John Carter, The Hunger Games and Pina 3D.

Some Notes and Updates While We Finish the Next Episode

Dear friends of the KeramCast – while we assemble the next episode of KC, I wanted to mention that a film I worked on in 2007 – Marvel Comics’ Punisher: War Zone is out this week via a 2-disc standard DVD and Blu-Ray set. Look for it at your local DVD seller. I loved the film and am proud of what everyone accomplished. If you didn’t get a chance to see it in theaters, treat yourself to a whole lot of fun, and release that pent up rage through it, vicariously.

Also, I invite you to call the KeramCast at our LA studios on (310) 929-7268 and leave your stories about dealing with anxiety. If you do not suffer from an anxiety disorder, you are off the hook. video cameraKeram essentially gives a 45 minute lecture on how to shoot high-quality video, distribute, market, monetize and succeed at making professional, broadcast quality home movies.  He also discusses viral videos, how to run your own internet based 24 hour TV station, hit Webisodic “The Guild”, aspect ratios, the best HD cameras for under a thousand bucks and much more.  Can you believe it is both free and ad free?  He is joined by co-host Aimee Lynn Chadwick.  Too good to be true.

UPDATES: Mogulus, mentioned in this episode, has since evolved into Livestream – a site that has since offered live broadcasts of the Oscars behind-the-scenes and exclusive Presidential campaign videos!  Also Revver.com seems to have since gone AWOL.

YouTube has evolved radically, from adding new commercial rental services of select content) adding full HD support and raising its content cap to 2GB.  In the near future they will also add metadata for fully searchable video and audio.

At the time this episode was recorded, no one could have predicted the rise of DSLR cameras as the new film threat.  In the interim, Keram has launched 7DLabs.com – a site dedicated to shooting with so-called HDSLR cameras.

Despite these subsequent changes, the episode comprises a hearty discussion about what viral videos are, what elements appear to be consistent among them, and how to exploit new content with this in mind.
